Shruti Devi (President)
Shruti is a Paul Nadler Award for Excellence in Service winner of the Rutgers University’s MBA program. She also earned her MSW from Rutgers University. Shruti has worked with Merck and led both its college recruiting program and program to recruit the physically challenged. Currently she is an entrepreneur and provides consulting services for Training and Development. She joined Manavi’s Board of Directors in 2013.
Prema Roddam (Vice President/Board Secretary)
Prema is an attorney with Chugh, LLP practicing in the areas of Corporate Law, Employment Law, Immigration Law, Family Law and Civil Litigation. Prema has clerked for Judge Diane Clarke Streett in the Delaware Superior Court and for Judge Arnold New in the Philadelphia Commerce Court. She received her JD with pro-bono distinction from Delaware Law School (formerly Widener Law). She currently serves as the Vice-President for SABA-NJ (South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey), serves on the Board of SABA-NY (South Asian Bar Association of New York). She has been a Manavi volunteer since 2012 and also volunteers her time pro-bono towards advocacy and legal assistance for Pratham USA.
Neela Atluri (Treasurer)
Neela is a trained volunteer advocate and has been involved in this capacity with both Manavi and 180 Turning Lives Around of Monmouth County for several years. Before this, she volunteered and served on the Board of the Hindu Temple and Cultural Society in Bridgewater, New Jersey for many years. Neela is a systems Engineer currently working at AT&T and received both her Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal. She is an avid Crossfitter and in her spare time, likes to travel and spend time with friends and family.
Shefali has volunteered for Manavi since 1996. She is also an active volunteer advocate for ‘180 Turning Lives Around’ in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Shefali enjoys Independent films and world cinema. She was actively involved in the New Jersey based South Asian Independent Film Festival for five years. Shefali has her Masters in Computer Science and Software Engineering and works for AT&T. She joined Manavi’s Board of Directors in 2012.
Krishna G. Hegde
Krishna has been involved with Manavi for a long time. He received a Ph.D. in Finance from Ohio State University and is currently a Product Manager of Global Mobile Management with AT&T. Krishna is an avid music aficionado and actively promotes classical Indian music in North America. He joined Manavi’s Board of Directors for the second time in 2012 and manages fund raising activities, financial administration, and grants coordination.
Shashi is a cofounder of Manavi and a licensed psychologist. She received her Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She has worked extensively with adults and children with developmental disabilities. Shashi has her own mental health practice in New Jersey. She joined Manavi as a Board of Director in 2012.
Malini works at the UX an immersive research consultancy marginalia highlighting the undiscovered stories left in the margins of user interfaces through research and usability testing. She is also the director at Code for Princeton, a nonprofit, in Princeton, New Jersey. She has earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Hyderabad and contributes her experience as a trained advocate, a grant writer and fundraiser for Manavi.
